If winter 2010-2011 was a competition, Natalie Portman would be winning. First there was Black Swan, then a Vogue cover story, then her engagement and pregnancy, then all of those banging red carpet looks. And now, the most flawless perfume ad in the history of perfume ads. Ever.
The kids at Celebuzz got their hands on Portman’s ad for Miss Dior Cherie, and it’s beautiful. Its charm has a lot to do with its simplicity — Portman is wearing nothing but a black ribbon in her hair. But as racy as that sounds, the ad is actually quite lovely. The actress is covered, looking directly into the camera, accompanied only by a little text and an image of the perfume’s bottle. It’s a huge change from the fragrance’s last campaign, which was a lot of Brigitte Bardot and cupcakes and flowers and balloons and other superfluous things that don’t have anything to do with fragrance at all.
But this one says, quite simply, all you need in life is to keep your hair out of your eyes. And a little spritz of this perfume will go a long way, too.
Dior announced that Portman would be one of the brand’s new ambassadors last June. The campaign also features a commercial shot by Sofia Coppola — and we’ll let you know as soon as it’s online
